FAMILY FORCE 5 / Crystal Palace Local Band Showcase

We will be playing the Local Band Showcase at UMBC Stadium the day of the Family Force 5 and Ashes Remain show on June 13th on the main stage!

Each band will be playing 10 minute sets.
(Yeah it's short but come out and support us anyway!)

IMPORTANT!

"Your fans can get tickets for the entire event (showcase, pro soccer game, and Family Force 5 concert) for 25% off! Tickets are normally $16, but for your fans its only $12. However, they have to call/email to order their tickets in advance (no later than Friday, June 12th at 9pm). The band that draws the most people through this promo gets one heck of a reward after the show! You'll love it! I'll be keeping track of every band's draw and we'll announce it after the showcase. The showcase winner will also be announced at 5pm. So, get on your MySpace and Facebook pages and promote, promote, promote!! If your band draws more than 10 people, everyone in your group (your band and your fans) will get free meal tickets for the game! Have your fans call me at 703-600-9226 or have them email me here stating they are with your band, and you'll be on your way to something awesome!"

"Are you recording?" ..... "NO."

Again... it's been a while. We apologize!
Summer is almost here so there will be more things to update about.
To follow through our last post... even though we didn't get passed the first round of the BOTB, we got to see some great bands and had a really great time! SEE Entertainment did a documentary of the whole thing so hopefully they will post that up somewhere soon.

Soooooooooo~ we're going to be participating in another battle!
It's going to be a local band showcase on June 11th (Venue TO BE DETERMINED...) and 2-3 bands are going to be chosen to open up for FAMILY FORCE 5!!!!! Ugly people put your hands down.

They are one of our favorite bands so that would be such an amazing experience... those guys are hilarious and insane live! Hopefully we'll have a better chance this time haha! Whether we win or not, we get free tickets to the show for registering so it's all good. If any of you live in Baltimore or close by and want to come to this show which is on June 13th, you can get tickets for just $12 if you say you're friends with us! Yes, we are that awesome... if you just drop our name you can get $4 discount...... BAHAHAHA!

The show is at UMBC Stadium

Oh and we're going to be recording 2 of our new songs this summer from June 29th-July 2nd with Mike B! Definitely super excited about that!

Here's a video I made from random clips of us and from the BOTB.
MORE TO COME... :]

it's been a long time, we shouldn't have left you... without a dope beat to step to, step to, step to, freaky-freaky!

Why it's been quite a while since we've posted a blog...
That's only because nothing really has been going on to be honest :P
We'll definitely try and blog on a regular basis from now on!
Summer is coming sooner than ever and we're getting back into the groove of things. New songs are being born... hopefully they will blossom into beauties and make us proud. The tunes are sounding great so far though so come out to an upcoming show to hear them! Keep checking back to our myspace for show dates, we will be updating it as we book more shows!

One huge event coming up is the Art Attack at College Park!
Since Joo attends the university we're able to take the opportunity to participate in the Battle Of The Bands! There are a couple of rounds but we have to first pass through the approval process. Our demos aren't the greatest but hopefully the judges like us. To sort of get their attention and approval I designed our 3 song demo case and tried to make it look professional and presentable haha!

Whoever wins the battle will be the opening act for the bands playing this year. Last year... Wyclef Jean, The Bravery, Simple Plan, Cobra Starship, and The Spill Canvas played. And the year before that I believe The All-American Rejects played! So it's a pretty huge music festival. To have an opportunity to participate in something like this is kind of amazing so hopefully we make it to the end! This will definitely be a motivator to help us finish the new songs asap and make them sound great. Even if we don't make it to the end, at least we'll have the songs done haha! We are such procrastinators. Hopefully we'll be able to record them and come out with an EP soon or something!

I will end with an old video I found of us from practice on March 18, 2007.
Almost exactly 2 years from today! This was when my bro was chubby, bald, and awkward looking, Eugene's bass drum had a huge hole in it, and Joo was just being Jooish. We are no longer on the porch by the way, we have moved into the garage... we are like a totally legit garage band now that plays garage rock, if you didn't know.

Look at all of our lazy asses sitting in chairs haha!
Well minus me because I'm standing on a chair :P

a new year.

First of all, we hope everyone is having a wonderful start of the new year so far! We have been writing new songs and trying to get the ball rolling again. Just the other day we started the full band practice, and boy are we rusty!
It hasn't even been that long... a couple of months maybe? But we are planning on a busy and productive year so we need to work hard. Thank you to every single one of you for your friendship and making 2008 such a great year for us... really.

Our first show of the year is going to be on the 24th at Club 19 in York, PA.
And we are still in the process of finishing our new songs =X
I've been having bit of a trouble finishing up the melodies and such but I'm pretty confident that we'll have everything done by the show.

On a serious note, my cousin told me about a girl named Briana.
She is 9 years old and has terminal cancer.
They say she only has 6 months to a year to live.
And she is actually going to be coming to our show on the 24th...
We'll be pretty much dedicating the show to her so if anyone is attending, let's show her a good time! A benefit show for her is in the works right now so look out for that soon!

And if you could keep Briana and her family in your prayers and thoughts so that they have the strength to get through this difficult time in their lives, that would be such a huge blessing.

We should learn from her life and not take our own lives for granted.
As humans, all we seem to do is complain about everything instead of giving thanks. I know many of us sometimes feel like we're at the lowest low and it couldn't get any worse but really... it could be worse, even in Brianna's situation. So let's take each day as a gift and not waste it.
